Let's play...Sega games!

I have enabled link sharing now (strange that it didn’t do that automatically… perhaps it was still processing the video when I got the link or something…) can you try again?

Maybe that´s the default in the privacy settings?

I have investigated this problem again and it seems like the problem with your links is actually that on one Chrome browser I am logged in to Google… somehow.
i.e. your links work in FireFox and on this Chrome in incognito mode.

BUT I can make your links work in the normal Chrome session too by changing them from

I can see it now, yeah.

That’s pretty good going, well done! And now I have a target to beat  so far the best I’ve done is six rings. It’s that first set of double rings and the tunnel that usually scuppers me. I find it helps to practise each tricky section until I’ve got the technique down, and then try another complete playthrough. So I shall keep doing that.

Ohhh, so Sega King’s Quest uses a verb menu. Eugh, that’s not the same! It looks all weird and chunky too (it even gave your notepad guy an electric shock). Thanks for filming it though, it’s interesting to see.

well, that’s one way to put it…
It really plays chunky too, so I have no intention on playing it further.
I mean, what is the use of a swim verb if you drown each time?
Also the game itself seems to be more action-adventure with added verbs. You can jump and duck (through a verb). And if you walk around, there is a troll on every bridge.

that’s what I did too. I found jumping over the first small ramp to be very tricky as well.

That’s odd. I don’t remember those being options with the text parser but maybe I never tried. But having them there in the verbs really makes it seem like an action game like you say. That’s one of the reasons I don’t think graphic adventures convert very well to console games.

We got Maniac Mansion on the NES, and while that sounds like the awesomest thing on paper I actually think it´s the worst version.

I just managed my first playthrough collecting no rings, yay. I didn’t beat @Sushi’s time but wishing I recorded it anyway because I fell off a ledge and had to go back, jumping over more rings, and that’s the game I managed to do best on! Haha

I just came so close :sob:

I filmed it but managed to cut off the time (1min12), so probably just as well… Watch right to the end

Sheesh, that Golden Axe is tough when you´re low on lives and credits!

It is! I never used to get very far, even with multiplayer.

The classics collection on the ps4 has online multiplayer btw.

Cool. If I wanted to play you I’d have to own it too though, right?

Yeah, but that would open the possibilities for all sorts of co-op gaming. Streets Of Rage, Golden Axe, ToeJam and Earl, that useless Sonic 2 one…

Hm, tempting then…

Well…no pressure from my side!

Does it co-op with PC?

Dunno, is the collection on PC, too?

You can buy something called SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics for about €30.
