Seguso's Adventure Game Thread

Why not:
“Let’s drink on it!”

To which you could continue:
OLIVIA: “You mean let’s think on it? A plan?”

X: “I know what I said. Bottoms up!”

basically that’s what I wanted to know
My doubt was about: “it over” versus “over it” versus “on it”

are you sure this is an English phrase?

I said “down the hatch” several times. Need to consider this.

According to my sources of information, you can translate “beviamoci sopra” with:

  • let’s have a drink
  • drink up

That works actually!

Accepted!

Both are. Or at least with “think” they are.

“Think it over” implies taking more time to think (as in sleeping on it)
Think on it… can be shorter- which might be more appropriate, as someone wants to ransack town soon.

O: “…ransack town! We need a plan to stop him!”
D: “I’ll drink on it.”
O: “You mean you’ll think on it.”
D: “I said what I said… Down the hatch!”

I might add that  Thanks

Sorry, one last question… I just realized in Italian it’s literally “let’s wish for”:

DAD: “Here, Mr. Perrot, have a drink! Let’s wish for a nice gruesome murder!”

DAD: “Here, Mr. Perrot, have a drink! Let’s wish for a substantial jewelry heist!”

DAD: “Here, Mr. Perrot, have a drink, and let’s wish for a nice massacre of innocents!”

What if I leave this literal translation? How does “let’s wish for” sound instead of "here’s to "? Would “let’s hope for” be better?

“Here’s hoping for” sounds the most natural to me. It gives the impression of less certainty than “here’s to”.

You mean:

“Here, Mr. Perrot, have a drink, and here’s hoping for a nice massacre of innocents!”

?
What a strange construction…

Yeah, it is strange, when compared to normal English grammar rules. To me it looks better right at the start of a sentence. Could you split it in two?

I could do

Here, Mr. Perrot, have a drink! Here’s hoping for a nice massacre of innocents!”

but I would feel more comfortable with

Here, Mr. Perrot, have a drink, and let’s hope for a nice massacre of innocents!”

Is the second one wrong?

No, it looks fine to me :slightly_smiling_face:

I really should work on the map and on the hint system now. But I indulged in some relaxing background art. Here is the end title scene, where the credits will roll (yes, you names are also there guys :))

The new map is online! Here’s the section that corresponds to part2.

PS: I hate trees now.

Now I have to finish the hints and translate them to English. The hints will be ready tomorrow.
