My best guess right now is that it has something to do with the pile of the people getting shreddered losing at the betting machine. Or at least with the robot cleaning it up.

Sure, if only I knew what exactly I wanted to buy! So I got myself the affordable droid that doesn´t instantly blow up (gee, why does this all seem so familiar!). I´m not sure if the remaining 6 bucks are enough to make enough money for a spaceship, but with the right save/reload strategy, maybe?
