I’m going to review these fresh, otherwise I can’t remember the details!

ā€˜Nothing Lasts Forever’

After a string of slightly disappointing episodes, I really liked this one. As a standalone story it was really good and nicely gory without being over-the-top in its presentation. I like how it slowly unravelled and you didn’t know quite what the cult were up to at first. Then the last ten minutes or so where suddenly it’s not just a standalone episode, were well written too. I thought Mulder’s line about if Scully ā€˜had never walked into that basement long before he needed glasses’ was touching without being overly sentimental. I really want to know what Scully said but I reckon it was ā€˜I want to get William back’.

This is brief because I need to watch the last one now.

If you could also blur the overall opinion this time would be nice!

I’m going to watch it right now! See you later!

I was planning to… Did I not before?

Not always, both of you. But it“s fine, it didn“t really influence me either way so far, but I“m just asking because it“s the finale and all.

Finished watching ā€œNothing lasts foreverā€.

It was disturbing to me. I’m not for that kind of things. At certain times, I looked elsewhere…

Quick thoughts on tonights episode (episode 6)

  1. It was nice that Skinner finally got an elaborate backstory.
  2. Though that plot with ex-vets having hallucinations due to experimental exposure reminded me a lot of Jacob“s Ladder. Or is that a common myth/half fact?
  3. Jumpin Jeebus Haley Joe Osment looks inflated these days! :astonished:

Yeah, although somehow I kept forgetting that the younger marine in the flashbacks was supposed to be him. I think it just didn’t look like him at all. I know it’s a minor thing but it made it confusing!

No idea. Too tired to Google

He really does. I’d seen him not that long ago in Silicon Valley but he looks even puffier in this episode.

Yeah when at the end of the cold open they said his name I really thought how necessary that was since I never would“ve gotten the idea myself.

I like season one Chubby Scully…

Me too. As Kumail Nanjiani says, she’s still got her baby fat :slightly_smiling_face:

She was 25 at the time. I belive Scully was older than that when they mentioned it.

When who mentioned it? I remember Nanjiani said it on his podcast about the Pilot, but might’ve remembered that wrong.

IĀ“m not exactly sure, but when I rewatched the show 2 years ago I believe I took note when they either said it or showed it on a document that she was born…1963ish I wanna say?

Oh do you mean GA was 25? I’m confused about what we’re talking about!
