The X-Files 2018

I probably was a lot in the 90s and didn´t notice it. Well maybe they´ll have some uncut night repeats or something…

Yes as far as I´m concerned I could do very well without it. Not gonna miss anything though, I´ll plan everything ahead just fine.

I just watched Triangle. That really is one of my favourite episodes. The long corridor takes of Scully rushing around, the main characters mirrored in the past, fantastic jazz score, 1939 Scully believing 1998 Mulder, Skinner ‘turning’ in both eras, Lone Gunmen quips, the notion that it’s all a dream, that perfect, gentle piano music at the end and “oh brother”…

You can also go by car now, there are no excuses!

Oh wait, my bad. Her profile specifically says London.
Getting out of London by car would take about the same amount of time then the remaining trip to Germany…

Why…how…what makes you guys so determined to…ah forget it…

That’s true. We never drive through London.

In a refreshing turn of events and stark change of personality I’m bringing this back on topic again with the following tenuous link :stuck_out_tongue:

In The X-Files: Fight the Future (1998) the syndicate meeting was shot in South Kensington, London. Funnily enough I was there the other day at a museum. The Well-manicured Man and the Crew Cut Man were not. But I did visit a sofa shop that had a retro themed basement with old arcade games. London is satisfyingly random like that.

Same with Cologne in Germany: That city consists only of one-way streets. If you drive into that city you will never be able to leave it. Maybe another case for Mulder and Scully…

And I thought munich was bad. And it still is.

If anyone’s interested in an X-Files podcast, I’ve been re-listening to Kumail Nanjiani’s X-Files Files.

Nanjiani is an actor (Silicon Valley, The Big Sick) and massive X-phile, and appeared in the season 10 episode Mulder and Scully Meet the Weremonster.

The conversation is really interesting and a measured mix of analysis and casual (and often amusing) commentary. The first one is even accessible for people who haven’t seen the series before but are curious.

The one I’m listening to is about the Pilot and how it shapes the Mulder-Scully dynamic. It’s filling the gap while I wait for the new series to air!

*waits for tumbleweed*

Sorry, from a recent comment by @Guga I get the impression that people get annoyed with me posting gifs, I promise to reduce them!

Seriously though Nanjiani is hilarious in everything I´ve seen him so far including late night interviews. He´s got that kind of dry with that´s totally down my alley.

So maybe I´ll check it out…or not because I don´t have to wait that long anymore for the show to start. :stuck_out_tongue:

They don’t annoy me but I did predict that one :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, he’s great. Hilarious and pretty intelligent too.

I hope the first scene is CSM in red Speedos, and you’re too traumatised to watch the rest. By this time I would’ve seen the spoilers and thus avoided that scene.

Damnit Woman, why did you just make me picture google “William B. Davis Red Speedos” ???
I feel like Analytics will haunt me from now on!

It’s okay – karma has rewarded me with a self-inflicted typo that I can’t remove from your quote :scream:

Awww, forget about it, I can! I can´t see you suffer like that. :crying_cat_face:

Thank youuuuuu

I was actually sincerely surprised, your gifs amuse me :stuck_out_tongue: but the most important thing is finding Simpsons references. Never stop doing that.

That´s something we can certainly agree on my fellow lodge brother!

Now marvel at me getting back to topic by using a Simpsons reference!
