It’s meant as a conference for professional game developers. The prices are that high because they want keep the “normal” people out. It’s the “Apple” effect.

That’s ok. We’ll just skip the boring conference for professionals part. We’ll have (more) fun outside. They can join us later on. For free. Or perhaps for the small effort of signing a couple of items

That’s a bargain compared to GDC (where a full ticket is around $2500). Of course, GDC lasts 5 days…
(and for the record, I think GDC prices are outrageous)
